In the UK, Northrop Grumman has a strong presence with a heritage going back nearly 100 years. Today the company operates from locations across the UK and provides avionics, air traffic managements systems, electronic warfare systems, marine navigation systems, C4I solutions and mission planning, aircraft whole life support, unmanned ground vehicle systems, IT systems, cyber security and software development.

Northrop Grumman UK is a full member of Niteworks, the partnership between the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the UK defence industry which provides the MoD with a wide range of decision support for the delivery of capability, from in-depth experimentation to rapid consultation and analysis. 

Northrop Grumman UK significantly improved its score in the MoD’s annual key supplier performance review for 2010 and is ranked in second position out of 30 key UK suppliers assessed by the MoD.

1. LONDON
UK corporate office and the centre for all UK business development activities.

2. CHESTER
Repair and maintenance facility for laser-based Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasure (LAIRCM) systems and lamp-based Directional Infrared Countermeasure (DIRCM) systems, currently installed on many RAF aircraft types.

3. COVENTRY
Engineering technical centre for the development and production of unmanned ground vehicles for explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and advanced robotic solutions for use in hazardous environments.

4. FAREHAM
Mission planning, tactical data links and battle space awareness solutions, integration of complex, mission-enabling systems, cyber security and services for defence, intelligence and government markets. Specialises in the development of C4ISR solutions.

5. NEW MALDEN
Marine navigation systems and radars, Naval and marine integrated bridge systems and integrated platform management systems. Repair and maintenance facility for Royal Navy’s inertial navigation systems.

6. PETERBOROUGH
Integrated airspace communication, navigation and surveillance solutions, including complete air traffic control systems.

7. RAF WADDINGTON
Whole Life Support Programme, including aircraft maintenance and design engineering support services, for the RAF’s fleet of Sentry E-3D AirborneWarning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft.

8. SOLIHULL
Operations facility for advanced information technology and systems solutions.

9. HENDON
Operations facility for the system integration and provision of the IDENT1 biometric identification service for the Police.
