Dr. Phillip Frost presently serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Opko Health, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company. He has served as vice chairman of the board of directors of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Ltd. since January 2006 when Teva acquired IVAX Corporation. He had served as chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer of IVAX Corporation from 1987 to 2006. Frost was chairman of the department of dermatology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami, Miami Beach, Florida, from 1972 to 1990. He was chairman of the board of directors of Key Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 1972 to 1986.
He is trustee of the University of Miami, trustee of the Scripps Research Institute, a regent of the Smithsonian Institute, and is a vice chairman of the board of governors of the American Stock Exchange. Dr. Frost is Chairman of Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc, and a director of Continucare Corporation and Modigene Inc.
