Harry B. Axson, Northrop Grumman Corporate Lead Executive (CLE) for the Tampa, Florida Region is also director for the Joint Integrated Product Team (IPT) for Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems.

As CLE, Mr. Axson is responsible for all Northrop Grumman community activities and business development cross-sector initiatives. His principal focus is on Northrop Grumman’s support to the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), both headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base, as well as the considerable support Northrop Grumman provides to the departments of Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs in the Tampa Bay area.

Mr. Axson joined Northrop Grumman in 2005 as director of the Joint IPT within Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems’ Strategic Thrust market area. He continues to work toward the development and fielding of responsive relevant Intelligence/Surveillance/Reconnaissance (ISR) and Battle Command Systems supporting the warfighter and the Joint Force Commander, both manned and unmanned.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Mr. Axson spent 35 years in the United States Army, retiring as a brigadier general. He served in Europe and Southeast Asia, and he is a combat veteran of Grenada, Panama, Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operations Iraqi Freedom/Enduring Freedom. His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Legion of Merit with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Master Parachutist Wings with Gold Star and the Ranger Tab.

Mr. Axson holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a Master’s degree in education from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and the Army War College. Mr. Axson is a member of the Association of the United States Army, The National Defense Industrial Association and The Army Aviation Association of America.
