Northrop Grumman has established a number of programs and initiatives to help further diversity and inclusion throughout the company. These programs recognize and celebrate our diversity, support our supplier diversity efforts, and further our partnerships in the community.
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are a key part of Northrop Grumman’s diversity and inclusion strategy and framework. These volunteer groups of employees come together to provide their members with opportunities for networking, community outreach, professional development and recruiting.
ERGs are open to all employees and typical groups that have formed include, but are not limited to, women, African American, Hispanic, Asian-Pacific, people with disabilities, Veterans, LGBT, new hires, and X and Y generations.
Northrop Grumman honors our company’s diversity by celebrating nationally recognized heritage months, e.g., Black History Month (February), Women’s History Month (March), Asian/ Pacific Islander American Heritage Month (May), LGBT Pride Month (June), Hispanic Heritage Month (mid-September to mid-October), National Disability Employment Awareness Month (October), and Native American Heritage Month (November).
It is a time where we recognize, and acknowledge the contributions of these groups to our American culture and society as we do with St. Patrick’s Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, and others.
In 2006, Northrop Grumman held its first Women’s Conference, with more than 500 women attending from across the company. Since then, the conference has become a recurring event (2010 | 2012 | 2014), which includes speakers from the company’s senior leadership, panel discussions, and nationally known speakers addressing topics such as leadership, development and work-life balance.

At Northrop Grumman the Global Supplier Diversity Programs (GSDP) Office acts as the liaison between prospective small and disadvantaged businesses interested in working with Northrop Grumman and the company’s procurement organizations. The Office's efforts to increase the number of successful minority and women –owned contractors by providing outreach and mentorship have been recognized nationally. Other small disadvantaged businesses include Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Minority Institutions, Veterans, Service Disabled Veterans and HUBZone business concerns.

D&I Leadership Conference
The 2015 Diversity & Inclusion Conference also included the Employee Resource Group (ERG) Summit. The intent of the conference was to bring together ERGs, leaders and executives to focus on inclusive leadership, increasing engagement and innovation. More than 300 attendees participated from across the company - both domestic and international.
Operation IMPACT (Injured Military Pursuing Assisted Career Transition) is a Northrop Grumman program which provides transition support and employment to service members severely injured in the Global War on Terrorism. The program received the New Freedom Initiative award from the U.S. Secretary of Labor in recognition of the company's commitment to helping American service members with disabilities succeed in the workplace and build careers.
